Today is my husband’s birthday and since I have no gift, I instead posted a message of love on his private Facebook account which I rarely do because I hate PDA (public display of affection) even if it’s online. I would like to think he really like my gift 🙂
It’s been a while since I wrote something because I am super duper busy working on a major project! Super major because I know this is life-changing for me and for all the people who will be touched by it.
It’s just normal that first-time parents (specially moms) would go great lengths for their children to have the best childhood ever. That includes making sure that their kids will have yearly gifts from Santa Claus and treats from Tooth Fairy.
And my son is no exception. When he was younger, I took great lengths to make Santa as believable as possible. And he indeed believed. Totally believed that he would even defend Santa’s existence to his classmates.
He believes in working honestly then receive your salary at the end of the month. Salary can go to the bank or put into low or medium-risk investments. A steady and safe way to increase your savings. He wants to build a a family home, buy a family car and retire comfortably when it’s time to retire.
He thinks sensibly and logically.
And then he married me.
If you have been reading my blog for a few years now, you know that I am far from trying to fit-in. I’m a rebel with a cause. I’m a dreamer, risk-taker, live-your-life to the fullest kind of gal.
So many things to do, so little time – is this the story of your life?
I’m in the stage right now where I want to do a lot of things all at the same time and fast!
These are just some of the things I am planning/trying to work on: – Finish the modules for my Wealthy Pinay bootcamp – Trying to figure out if I really want to proceed with the Wealthy Pinay bootcamp – Planning for our Georgia trip this December – Thinking if we should really go to Georgia this December – Monetize this blog (and resisting it) – Focus on Slian Nails and update the business plan and marketing strategies – Plan the kids’ lunchbox menu for the full month so I don’t have to think everyday – Do their reviewers at least once a week – Organize my closet and throw/give away stuff that I don’t need – Enroll the kids to swimming lessons, guitar lessons, ballet, karate…
I could go on and on but you get the drift. I want to do all these and more yet just thinking about it makes me tired. Continue reading →
When I was invited for an Asian and Filipino buffet, I know I have to say yes! And if there’s crispy pata on the menu then I’ll come running.
Kris With A View is located at 19th floor of Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel in Karama just opposite of Burjuman Centre.
It’s our first time to try the restaurant but I know that they were serving Pan-Asian dishes before. Now they are re-launching it and serves Filipino dishes as well to attract kabayans. Continue reading →
It’s been a while since I posted something about food. Well, not that we don’t go out (we actually eat out often nowadays) but I don’t feel like sharing them unless it’s really something that standout for me.
We found ourselves in Satwa for 2 consecutive weekends – isn’t it obvious that we miss our old neighbourhood? I am surprised that a lot has change in that area since I last visited. There’s now Jollibee, Andoks chicken and a building called Manila! Where am I hiding?
Anyways, we tried Jollibee the weekend before and last Friday, it was this Korean/Japanese restaurant called Kimchee by Shogun.
I’m really craving for Korean food last week and the only Korean restaurant that we go to – that’s HYU – moved to Jumeirah Lakes Towers. I’m not in the mood to drive as the distance from my place to JLT is like going to work already. No chance. Continue reading →
This post is part of The Wealthy Pinay series wherein I will talk about goal-setting, normalizing wealth and using positivity to achieve all our goals.
If you prefer to read, continue below. I have transcribed and English-translated the video.
Gratitude is being thankful for everything that we are receiving. Some people might say “Of course, I’m always thankful. I always thank God for all the blessings. I’m grateful that I woke up this morning.”
But for me personally, once you start complaining even for the smallest issue, if you start crying and even get depress for tiniest of problem, then I don’t think you are practicing gratitude. Continue reading →
