Bentoya has been in Dubai for at least a decade now so you must have visited this place before but for those who haven’t this is for you.
I’ve dined several times in their Jebel Ali branch (inside JAFZA) when I was still working there and have been recently visiting their Garhoud branch nowadays.
This is one of those Japanese restaurants where Japanese actually eat so I always consider this place authentic.
Never once that we came here and not find Japanese person inside. And that is always a good sign.
Recently, they are offering 50% off on an extensive selection of their dishes and we’re like YAHOO!!!
The menu said it’s only available on weekdays but we’ve been in Bentoya during weekends, and before 12 noon and this offer was given to us.
So as long as they provided you the discounted menu then it’s valid that day and time. Order everything!
With it’s high ceiling, the place looks bigger. We once ate upstairs and we realized we prefer the ground floor area better.
They have a collection of Japanese manga but I can’t understand Nihongo so I didn’t bother checking if it’s for sale or just available to read while inside the restaurant.
A semi-private area if you feel like it.
Now the food. Let’s start first with their sushi and rolls which I don’t really fancy. The mayo used on their sushis is too sour for my liking. Weird considering Japanese customers usually orders it. I reckon that the taste I am used to is not authentic after all.
But mind you, Gibson will always order them.
This spicy salmon salad is love. Order this and thank me later.
Make sure you are super duper hungry when ordering Ramen. The serving is huge!
