California Pizza Kitchen

Last week, My son Cole had complained of severe stomach pain as soon as he woke up. We gave him breakfast and forced him to drink water. He also visited the toilet and did that ‘thing’. But nothing changed, he was still crying in pain. I suspect UTI and we immediately went to Medcare Clinic in Mirdiff City Centre. I thought UTI can’t be treated without antibiotic. Surprisingly, even though we didn’t have an appointment, Cole was immediately seen by the pedia doctor. I guess they saw how bad he was in pain, he was really limping. Continue reading →

This is the final part of our Roaming in Rome Do-It-Yourself Tour. You may want to read first Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

Last Part: Roaming in Rome – DIY Tour

Day 4

We really dedicated our last day on visiting places that kids will enjoy. As I said earlier, Cole never complained once with all the walking we did but I can sense he had enough of the culture. So we had breakfast first at the Pantheon area. Continue reading →

Day 3

Third Day was when we visited famous landmarks and had DIY walking tour. Handed with a map, we started the day with a visit to Trevi Fountain. This is where you toss a coin to ensure return to Rome. It was on restoration when we came and I read that it should be completed by October 2015. There is however, a small pool of water from the fountain where tourists throw their coins. Of course, we followed the tradition and threw a coin each. I threw an extra penny and made a special wish. Continue reading →

Part 2 : Roaming in Rome – DIY Tour

This is the second day of our DIY tour in Rome. For first part, click here.

I now understand the importance of eating brain food. I’m racking my memory to remember the sequence on how we did things. It’s just a few months ago but it feels like it happened years back.

Anyways, in my last post, I told you how we missed collecting our Papal mass tickets for Maundy Thursday’s mass. We decided that we’ll still go and hope for Divine intervention. Continue reading →

Roaming in Rome : Do-It-Yourself- Tour

Roaming in Rome : Do-It-Yourself- Tour

I already posted our Rome trip on my other blog but I don’t think it matches the blog’s personality so I moved it here. I’m also updating this post so it will be more useful to anyone who plans to visit Rome and do all the arrangements by themselves.

I started planning for this trip as early as December of 2014 but the actual bookings were only made in February 2015 as soon as we got the visa. I booked the apartment in February and then purchased the fight tickets in March. I will try to tell things chronologically just the way I planned them. Note that this post is quite long as I want this to be as informative as possible. Continue reading →

Stirfry Bok Choy and Mushroom Recipe

Stirfry Bok Choy and Mushroom Recipe

As much as I love cooking, I don’t like the tasks associated with it such as a) preparation – cutting, peeling, etc b) staying very long in the kitchen and c) cleaning the mess afterwards. That’s why I’m always on the look-out for simple, easy and quick dishes that requires minimal effort and won’t slave me in the kitchen. Continue reading →

Tapa King – Dubai

Tapa King – Dubai

So yesterday, I posted our street food adventure at Jolly Jeep. We actually dined first at Tapa King just right next to Jolly Jeep because the hubby wanted to try it for longest time now. One thing I immediately noticed was that it’s clean and the restaurant looks brand new. Good sign! Continue reading →

There’s Jolly Jeep in Dubai!

There’s Jolly Jeep in Dubai!

Today is Filipino foodtrip kind of day for us. The whole gang braved Karama and head straight to Ansar Gallery to try two Filipino eateries which are very well known back home. We had light meals first at Tapa King and went after to Jolly Jeep to have a taste of Filipino street food we missed. I’ll post my Tapa King experience later. For now, I’ll share how we enjoyed Jolly Jeep. Continue reading →

The Best 70-Second Microwave Mug Cake Recipe

The Best 70-Second Microwave Mug Cake Recipe

I’ve tried a bunch of mug cake recipes and the end-results were always a disaster. It just goes straight to the bin as no one wants to touch them ☹.  And maybe you’re asking why don’t I just bake a proper cake? Well, because baking even a 9-inch size cake takes our family days or even weeks to finish aside from the fact that I don’t like the mess really. I know that baking is fun BUT cleaning the pan, measuring cups, spoons, bowl, mixer and everything else in between is such a task for a lazy busy person like me.

So, mug cake is the best solution for someone who’s craving for a slice of cake and don’t have the time to do a proper one. You don’t even need to know how to bake to make this. Continue reading →
