Bennigan’s

I think it has been my habit lately to eat out on Thursday nights. It’s like my mini welcome to the great weekend ahead! This time, I asked my sister, Jholen, to dine with me. And as you know, I’m always making a point to use our Entertainer vouchers just to get the most of the book before it expires. Of course we went to our favorite go-to mall, Sahara Centre.

It’s a choice between Russo and Bennigan’s. I’ve never dined in Russo but Jholen haven’t tried Bennigan’s and as a very good sister, I gave way. Bennigan’s it is. Continue reading →

People. Places. Memories

Last Thursday, i went to my first ever media event for the launch of Doc Gelo’s travel book, People. Places. Memories – Travel Stories and Photos from Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.

I was excited when I first got the invitation. Imagine, I’m meeting all these famous bloggers and influential media personalities. These people who I follow on social media, always like their amazing photos, admire their wittiness and now I will have the chance to put faces on the names. Continue reading →

Red Lobster

Gibson and Joseph received an SMS from Foot Locker that there was a buy-one-get-one offer in their Dubai Mall branch. Being both rubber shoes addict enthusiast, they wanted to go to the Dubai Mall and just “look around”. To cut the story short, they were frustrated that the items offered on sale are not the ones they really like to purchase. Gibson was sad but I’m quite relieved. I thought he had quite a number of shoes already so I don’t get it why he needs another to add on his collection. Anyways, that’s another topic for some other time.

We went there around 12 noon. Just in time for lunch and we decided to eat at Red Lobster which is on Lower Ground along the line of restaurants on that floor.  Continue reading →

Hard Rock Cafe

As I said a few days ago, I went through a phase when I don’t want to blog about places and restaurants that I’ve already visited several times. It’s like I’ve been into these places many times before that I don’t find it ‘bloggable’ anymore. Although I realized that it might be usual for me and the people around me, but it might be the first time for others. Same that there are hundreds if not thousands of restaurants I still haven’t tried.

So now, I will write about our Hard Rock Cafe lunch a few weeks ago. Again, Hard Rock is available in The Entertainer so that’s why we went there. If you are not a frequent reader of my blog, just to inform you that I am consciously visiting cafes and restaurants since October that accepts The Entertainer vouchers. Not that I haven’t got the value of the book yet, it’s more of getting the most out of it before it expires by end of this year. Continue reading →

Chopsticks

Chopsticks is one good restaurant that we frequently visit in Sahara mall. They always serve good food and service is always nice. My mom always dine here whenever she visits us. It’s like a tradition of sort. We will usually order 4-5 starters since we want to try as many dishes as possible without leaving comatose after the binge eating.

Last Thursday, I asked Jholen if she wants to go to Sahara and eat out. Sahara Centre is around 5-8 minutes walk from our place and our go-to mall whenever we’re bored. And since I have Entertainer voucher for Chopsticks, this is really my preferred restaurant for that night. Continue reading →

I’m still alive!

I’m still alive!

Nope, I’m not yet dead. I haven’t posted anything on my social media accounts for two weeks now. I am just lurking on Instagram and Facebook, liking and commenting but didn’t post anything. Not that I’m hibernating and didn’t go out these past few weeks. On the contrary, I’ve been eating out, done some activities and had enjoyable weekends.

But the problem is I don’t find these activities ‘bloggable’. I mean, the restaurants I’ve visited are restaurants I’ve dined before, several times already even before I started blogging. The novelty wears off and I feel that it won’t interest my readers anymore.

Well, I realized one thing. Yes, maybe everyone I know already dined at Hard Rock but somewhere out there, there is still someone who hasn’t. Sure, I’ve eaten in Pampageños several times before but it never occurs to me that some people are interested to know how’s the food (which is by the way very good).

So yes, although I wasn’t planning on blogging about the restaurants, I took photos of the places/food we’ve visited/ate and I will share it with you very soon. I don’t care if you find it interesting or not, I will still blog it. Ha! 🙂

Now if only I can find time to do the photo resizing, editing and writing. That’s a different story…

Halloween Trick or Treat Party for Kids

Halloween Trick or Treat Party for Kids

To be honest, I’m not very keen to do trick or treating this year. Gone were the years when I was very excited to buy Cole’s costumes and search for events that he would enjoy. I was doing it for around 8 years and felt I had enough.

But then I feel guilty for Biel who’s only 3. Of course I want her to have the same fun memories of halloween so I snap out of my tardiness one fine day (which was yesterday) and decided that since it’s too late to look for a trick or treat party venue elsewhere (and the fact that it would be expensive to bring the whole gang), we will just have our own halloween party at home for the first time. Miyabi Sushi & Bento

Miyabi Sushi & Bento

As I said last time, since there are only few weeks left before the buy-one-take-one offer expires, we will only eat at restaurants that accept The Entertainer vouchers . I just recently discovered Miyabi Sushi & Bento and I thought it’s one of the good Japanese restaurants in town. I was with Gibson and Biel the first time we tried the place and we were able to use two of our Entertainer vouchers. After only two days, we were craving again for some Japanese fix and we immediately thought of how good our earlier Miyabi experience so why not visit it again. Continue reading →

Fraiche Cafe & Bistro

We purchased The Entertainer book early this year and with only a few weeks left before we say adios to 2015, I told my husband that we will only dine in restaurants and cafes that accepts the vouchers. We have to get the most out of this book.

I’ve been seeing Fraiche (pronounced as fresh) Cafe & Bistro’s ads on my Facebook feed and I’ve always been intrigued. They always have favourable reviews and when I checked my Entertainer book, I’m so glad that Fraiche is there. Continue reading →

Adobo Nation

IMG_2451_Fotor

I think Filipinos in Dubai are quite spoilt for choice of restaurants serving our all-time favorite dishes. Restaurateurs in UAE now recognize that the Filipino community are growing in numbers and since we are nation of hearty eaters, we can’t have too many restaurants dedicated to our cuisine.

When my Facebook friend Lala told me that there’s a new Filipino restaurant in Dubai, I knew I had to visit it. So yesterday after mass, our gang went to Raintree Hotel in Deira for lunch. Continue reading →
