Warning: Don’t read this post if you’re hungry!
I’ve prowled online for like two weeks before finding Al Bahou Family Brunch in Moevenpick IBN Battuta Gate. With so many buffet brunches vying for our attention, it easy to get confused which one to go to. And why do I need to research? Friday brunch doesn’t come cheap. I’m looking for one that serves international dishes but won’t make us eat cup noodles for a week since we splurged our budget that weekend. It is also important to find a place where kids can enjoy. Since they have smaller tummies than mom and dad, they are done eating even before we start our appetizer so there should be a supervised area where they can do something else than ask us to finished up and leave.
And I’m glad my research paid off. Al Bahou which translates as ‘The Grand Hall’ serves worldwide offerings showcasing live stations from Moevenpick’s specialty restaurants.
Mistral – International
Chor Bazaar – Indian
Shanghai Chic – South East Asian
Sicilia – Italian
Pastane – Our special sweets room
Deli- Pork and Cheese room
Brunch starts at 12:30 and ends at 4pm. We arrived quite early so what better way to spend time but to take photos.
When the buffet opens, all guests are given a glass of sparkling or fresh juice and are toured around the area. The gentleman assigned to us showed us each section and the areas where kids can hang out.
I accompanied the kids in their buffet area.
And after eating, it’s playtime!
There is also a live entertainment
And now the best part, the FOOD! As much as I want to take photos of every dish, I cannot really concentrate because of hunger. And by the time I’m done eating, I was in food coma. But here’s what catches my attention when browsing each section.
Ceviche preparationSeafood! Seafood! Seafood!
I promise you this is just a small plate.
But I admit, I had around 20 pieces of these oysters. I’m from Obando in Bulacan, Philippines and I grew up eating this in buckets, like really large buckets! In Dubai, it costs 4 dhs a piece! It’s really a treat!
The Italian area. Pizza, pasta, a good selection of cheese.
The grill / roast area. It has honey roasted lamb, pecking duck, roasted chicken, grilled salmon to name a few.
The Arabic and Indian sections
And literally a room-full of desserts. Cakes, ice creams, waffles. Name it, you would probably find it.
By 3 pm, we were so full that the only thing we can take was green tea and coffee. I was truly satisfied with this buffet brunch and I will definitely try it again. And with The Entertainer voucher, it’s value for money!

This is one of our favourite brunches in Dubai!
I’m glad I stumbled on this!
That’s one impressive kids club and menu. #UAEMomBloggers
It is! Some buffets just have the usual pasta and pizza.
