I have been hearing great reviews about The Farm for years now and today, I gave in. It so happens that it’s my birthday today so I decided to dress up a little which is not really necessary as the place is casual but several ladies were wearing pretty dresses as well so I didn’t feel out of place.
The Farm is located at Al Barari in Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road, formerly Emirates Road. It was a delight to had the 2 kilometer drive through dense bush as soon as we enter the Al Barari compound. We easily found the restaurant and parking is ample.
I strongly suggest that you book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. I booked online 2 days earlier and it was quick and easy. I requested for seat near the window which I realized was unnecessary as the place is really bright because of the glass walls.
We were immediately seated in the area with this view 😍. Pretty!
Menu is viewed on an iPad and the techy kids didn’t need any assistance.
While waiting for our order, we ventured outside and pretended that the weather was nice. 😂 If it wasn’t too humid, the lush greeneries really helped in protecting us from direct sunlight.
Really amazing ambiance.
For beverage, I tried the strawberry milkshake with whip cream on top. Calories! But since it’s my birthday, who cares?!
Hubby had Mango Orange smoothie which has mango with orange juice and low-fat yoghurt.
We were served a basket of white and brown bread.
Now, for the food. Biel had the Penne white sauce with cheese.
Cole ordered the macaroni and cheese. We requested them to remove the broccoli.
Lance had their kid’s mini burger with sweet potato fries.
Of course, we need to order an extra serving of french fries.
I’m not sure why I wasn’t hungry. I think I got so excited with the scenery and getting great photos, I can’t concentrate on eating. So although the main courses were really appetizing, I decided to skipped it and just ordered several starters.
I had Chili Mussels. Organic New Zealnd Mussels cooked with Marinara sauce with mild cheddar cheese and Thai chili. Yum!
Bruschetta. Roasted bread rubbed with garlic and topped with select greens and tomotoes. The photo on the menu shows two piece of bread with generous amount of topping. But the actual serving was humongous. Not that I’m complaining, it’s actually good. This could be considered as a main meal.
Grilled eggplants rolls stuffed with low-fat cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes, roasted pepper, basil and cracked walnuts.
Gibson being a meat lover tried the oven baked short rib with spicy barbeque sauce served with a mashed potato on the side. Don’t be fooled, the serving is big!
There’s Thai menu available and we ordered Tom Yum from the list.
You can find the complete list of menu here. And their website here.
After eating, we strolled the area once again and took more photos.
And since it’s my birthday, please let me indulge with some self-love 👩
We will definitely come back once the weather turns cooler and we’re excited to try their breakfast. The place is really an oasis in desert.
Here’s a short video on how much fun we had!
