Hello Philippines and Hello World!

Hello Philippines and Hello World!

We are back in the lupang sinilangan and we are so happy! Happy to see our parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends. Happy to visit places old and new. Happy that it’s raining. Even Cole said that he loves the gasoline smell when we rode the tricycle. Most of all, we’re happy to taste all the food we’ve missed. It has been 3 glorious days of non-stop eating. Calories – here we come!!!

And to be honest, these are just like 50% of what I ate.

Different dimsums in Hap Chan – this siomai, and then I ordered chicken feet, spareribs with tausi, congee with pork and century egg, and whole lot more.

And then we went to Mall of Asia the other day. It’s just a 3-hour malling with the purpose of just shopping but we still managed to eat, ok maybe just me but since I only have one tummy, I made sure that somebody will help me finish it. Aside from different items from Bread Talk and crepe from Crazy Crepes, here are the rest of the food I tried.

Turks Shawarma. A very good Filipino-style shawarma.

Antonio’s Bibingka. I ordered the special one (cheese and salted egg combination) but I thought it’s just so-so.

Some of below items were either bought from the palengke (wet market) or from Waltermart which is just 10-minutes walk from my in-laws place.

Tatampal and alimasag

Lugaw with tokwa’t baboy. But this one, NO! Hello Philippines and Hello World!

And as I said, these are just few that I managed to take photo. I had kutsinta, cassava cake, isaw, french fries from Potato Fries, jumbo hotdog from Purefoods hotdog stand (because it’s always better when they sell it!), butter mamon from Red Ribbon, etc. etc.

And today is my parents-in-law’s wedding anniversary and we will have kare-kare, Amber’s pancit Malabon, pichi-pichi and Lots A Pizza (I managed to convince them to order this rather than Domino’s, because there’s Domino’s Pizza in Dubai). Ahhh! Food. Glorious food. To compensate, I squeeze in 10-15 minutes of exercise everyday with hope of burning those calories.

I know a lot of OFWs/Dubai expats are going on holidays this season. I hope you enjoy  it and have a blast! And for those who won’t be going anywhere, for sure you’re enjoying the peacefulness of Dubai right now. And see you soon but not very soon, ok! Let me gain a few more kilos first!

Ciao!
